Golf courses on the Costa Brava are open all year round and blessed with spectacular scenery. Dramatic coastlines and the Pyrenees forming the backdrop make for an exciting round.
Costa Brava golf green fees are reasonable and tee times readily available. A variety of tourist resorts provide a range of accommodation, much of which is affordable.
There is plenty to occupy the non-golfer too. Most of the courses are set between pretty old villages and towns. The medieval villages of Pals and Peratallada and the charming old quarter of Girona are well worth a look.

Club de Golf Costa Brava
All golfers, from beginners to experts, will be at home on the 5,625-metre 18-hole, Par 70 Club de Golf Costa Brava course, with its moderate slopes and varied width fairways.
Studded with cork oaks, olives, and pines, the main challenge on the first 9 holes involves dodging several trees, before chipping onto the greens. The second nine are flat and wide, with two, large, artificial lakes that end in a bay by the sea.
The Club de Golf Costa Brava course has a magnificent, old clubhouse, built in 1841, where you can dine after your game, and there is a driving range, buggy hire, and a golf school.
Emporda Golf Resort
This golf course is relatively new to the Costa Brava and is made up of two 18-hole courses, – the 6,160-metre, Par 71 Links course, and the Par 72 Forest course. Rated in the top 50 European golf courses, it is a level, easy-walking course, which is very scenic, with many water features. This Costa Brava golf course has excellent, long greens, many lined with giant pines, that will challenge all levels of players, and there are a variety of playing options. You can rent apartments overlooking the course, and the clubhouse has a popular bar and restaurant. There is a driving range, and a golf school, and the well-stocked pro shop offers rental buggies and clubs.
This 6,100-metre, 18-hole Par 72 Costa Brava golf course, set in the hills near Girona has something for everyone. Course architect F.G Hawtree has taken advantage of the topography and the terrain of an old olive orchard to create a classic collection of greens. Golf Girona has a driving range, pitching and putting greens, plus at the pro shop you can hire all golfing necessities and book individual and group lessons. The clubhouse has changing facilities and a restaurant.
Situated in Les Gavarres mountains at 300m above sea level, Golf D’Aro has spectacular views of the Costa Brava including views to the Begur lighthouse and the town of Sant Feliu de Guixols, as well as Montseny and the Selva Valley.. The fairways are lined with pines, cork oaks and more than a thousand olive trees. Make sure you bring plenty of golf balls with you! Its superb location offers magnificent panoramic views overlooking the town of Platja d’Aro. Water comes into play via two large artificial lakes. Built in 1990 and designed by Romon Espinosa.
Platja de Pals
Surrounded by hundreds of pine trees, the compact greens of the Catalonia region’s most scenic course are relatively easy to play. This 6,222-metre, 18-hole Par 73 course, one of the most prestigious Costa Brava golf courses, offers a classic golfing experience. The course is set in a forest of umbrella pines that runs very close to Pals beach. Narrow tree-lined fairways and doglegs are the features of this superb and testing course. Pals is one of the few courses in Spain with a par 73, due to the fact that it has 3 par 5’s on the back nine. There is a driving range, putting and pitching greens, an international golf school, and the clubhouse restaurant has wonderful views of the greens.
Now becoming one of the most prestigious Costa Brava golf courses, the PGA Catalunya is situated some 45 minutes north of Barcelona and is ranked 10th in Europe by Golf World magazine. This tree-lined Costa Brava golf course played host to several national and European golf tournaments and received numerous plaudits from the world’s best players. This challenging layout with pronounced gradients measures a lengthy 6588 meters off the yellow tees. This is the only golf course in the Costa Brava and Spain to feature five different tees to enable various abilities to play. Designed by Angel Gallardo & Neil Coles. The PGA de Catalunya golf course on Catalonia’s Costa Brava has been described by Golf World magazine’s Steve Carr, as the ‘jewel in the crown’.
Serres de Pals
Serres de Pals Golf Club is a new championship golf course founded in the year 2000 and designed by Ramón Espinosa. It is set in rambling agricultural land and boasts beautiful views over the Emporda region of the Costa Brava. Along with Playa de Pals golf club and Emporda Golf Club, Serres de Pals Golf Club forms the Golden Triangle of golf courses in the area. The course is composed of three distinct areas with smooth hilltops, pine tree forests and fairways between lakes, giving a challenge to golfers of all levels. It lies on the typical flattish rolling farmland countryside of the Baix Emporda, with few trees. Strategic doglegs frequent many holes on this course, so placement of your tee shots is paramount.
The exclusive golf club, designed and looked after down to the last detail, has a Championship course of 18 holes (par 72). During the course you will find outstanding lakes, wide greens and breathtaking views. This is a versatile course in that skilled players have the chance to attack the pin if they play straight, while the higher handicapper golfer has a number of options open to him or her to get around the course without any excessive risk taking. The location of this layout provides magnificent light and colours from the natural setting all around. This is a virtually flat course and is quite easy to play on.
